What is Spinal Flow?

Your Body Has the Ability to Heal. Spinal Flow Helps Restore It.

The Spinal Flow Technique was developed by Dr. Carli Axford through more than 20 years of research, science, observation, and clinical experience. It is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on the spine and nervous system — the body’s primary communication network

Spinal Flow helps guide the nervous system away from the stress response of fight-or-flight and into a state of healing, regulation, and ease. Rather than forcing change, it works with the body’s innate intelligence to identify and release areas of stored stress and tension.

Throughout daily life, we experience physical, emotional, and chemical stressors that can overwhelm the nervous system. Over time, these stressors may become stored within the body and spine, contributing to tension, reduced mobility, posture changes, fatigue, discomfort, illness, and general dis-ease.

By supporting the flow and communication of the nervous system, Spinal Flow helps the body release accumulated stress naturally so it can function, heal, and thrive more effectively.

What Spinal Flow Supports

  • Nervous system regulation and whole-body communication

  • The release of stored physical, emotional, and chemical stress

  • Improved posture, mobility, and energy flow

  • Greater ease, calm, and body awareness

  • Long-term wellbeing rather than temporary symptom relief

Understanding Stress & Blockages

Spinal Flow recognizes three primary types of stress that contribute to blockages within the body and nervous system:

Physical Stress

  • Injury from sports or accidents

  • Childbirth

  • Poor posture

  • Repetitive strain

  • Surgery or physical trauma

  • Sleep positions

Emotional Stress

  • Financial strain

  • Career

  • Grief

  • Emotional overwhelm or trauma

  • Anxiety, depression, mental illness

  • Home & family environment

Chemical Stress

  • Environmental toxins

  • Household, personal care products

  • Processed foods

  • Medications

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Drugs, alcohol

When stress accumulates in the body, it can contribute to:

  • Persistent pain, tension, or stiffness

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Fatigue and low energy

  • Difficulty relaxing or managing stress

  • Poor posture and restricted movement

  • Feeling disconnected or “not like yourself”

Spinal Flow works gently with the body to help release these blockages and restore the body's ability to heal.
